Tru-Pine is used for structural timber, and timber cladding. It is also widely used in exterior structures such as pergolas, decks, verandas, porches and balconies. The range includes laminated beams and posts, fascia boards, timber mouldings, and weatherboards. A complementary range of hand railings, stair railings and balustrades is also available.

What is Tru-Pine made from?

Tru-Pine products are manufactured from radiata pine, an exceptionally versatile timber known for its exceptional machining properties, durability when treated, strength, stability and lightness. Paint coatings are easily applied and achieve a smooth visually appealing surface finish.

What is Tru-Pine made from?

The radiata pine used in the manufacture of Tru-Pine products is sourced from New Zealand’s renewable plantation forests. This timber has Forest Stewardship Council Certification as it is sourced from forests which comply with set environmental, social and economic standards.

What is the treatment process used on Tru-Pine?

Tru-Pine is pressure treated with Light Organic Solvent Preservatives (LOSP). All Grades are treated to H3 using Azole fungicides and permethrin termite control actives. Tru-pine carries a 30 year limited treatment guarantee against fungal decay and insect attack when timber is exposed in UC3B conditions.

What adhesives are used in F7 structural and GL8 laminated products?

Polyurethane adhesive is used in finger jointing and lamination. This adhesive conforms to the AS5068 Service Class 3 operative standard for exterior above ground use exposed to weather.

How is A-lign primed and undercoated?

A-lign is delivered pre-primed, and undercoated on all four sides. Both primer and undercoat are oil based. Oil has proven performance as a primer and undercoat providing good resistance to moisture uptake.

What paint is recommended for A-lign?

Once A-lign is in place, two coats of 100% premium acrylic house paint is recommended. The painting and maintenance specification has been developed to extend the coating period.

How long can A-lign cladding be on the wall before it must be painted?

Finishing coats should be applied as soon as possible after installation of exterior sheathing, joinery and trim. All painting should be carried out in accordance with AS/NZS2311 Guide to the painting of buildings. Timber should be painted when the surface is dry and when the board is near the equilibrium moisture content (EMC < 16%). Priming or painting when the weatherboard is above or below the EMC can result in the weatherboards shrinking or swelling after installation or painting. If in doubt check with a moisture meter.

What colours can be used?

Colours with a Light Reflective Value (LRV) of 45% or greater are recommended. Dark colours should be avoided as they can cause distortion of framing, and resin bleed. Your paint supplier can advise on suitable colours.
